]]> Cannas are North American native, sun-loving perennials with large, eye-catching leaves featuring prominent veins. The leaves are upright growing along a tallish stalk and racemes of bright flowers emerge from the center during the summer and continue for several months. The basic foliage color is grayish green but there are red, black and chartreuse variegated varieties. The large leaves provide a tropical look and contrast well with ornamental grasses, coneflowers, and many other fine-textured plants. Plant placement in landscape beds varies with mature size.
