Some have large or unusual flower heads; some feature outstanding foliage with interesting color or shape. Young lavender leaves are green and age to a silvery-gray color. Flowers and foliage can both be dried for a variety of uses. Lavender can be used in a border, rock garden, in containers, and as an edging.

  • Plant in well-drained soil with moderate fertility
  • Cut back in early spring and again lightly after flowering ends
  • Aromatic flowers and leaves
  • Flower spikes attract bees and butterflies
