Crossvine is a cousin to the more aggressive trumpet vine. Native to east Texas, some varieties have more vibrant blooms that others, and some varieties such as ‘Tangerine Beauty’ bloom loads of orange flowers in both spring and fall. Flowers bloom on old wood, so be sure to prune just after blooming ends. It can be difficult to find vines that bloom in afternoon shade but crossvine does and it also attracts hummingbirds. Although this vine is slow growing at first, it will take off fast
